Yep. That machine will run Crysis 2 on 'Extreme' settings @ 1080p (if you wish) with zero lag.
I'm running the 6970 and my card runs it at 1080p on Extreme settings and the frames per second never dip below 50.
To be honest with you, Crysis 2 isn't really that graphically intensive. It looks good but it COULD have looked much better.

Here's some gameplay from a very similar machine to yours. This is how you can expect your machine to perform. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GQqEvc8X鈥?/a>
Watch it in HD to get a better idea of what quality you can expect.

There is only a very slight difference between Asus radeon HD 6970 and AMD Radeon HD 6970 and the difference is that the cards are made by different companies. One from Asus and one from AMD themselves. The only difference would be build quality and price. Having said that, both AMD and Asus make TOP quality cards so really, not much difference at all.

Select "Crysis 2"

Then click on the "Can you run it" button.

It will test every required component on your machine and evaluate if it meets system recommendations and also how well it will run on your machine. Can this run crysis 2?
With the best single GPU out there right now? I should hope so.

As far as the Asus vs AMD goes- it's the same card. AMD just designs the card and then sells the designs to other companies like Asus.
Easily man, it's console port. 90fps+ on max.

grab an i5 2500k and Z68 chipset instead of i7 960 and X58.Can this run crysis 2?
HELL YEAH YOUR ARE ON. I HAVE AN AMD PHENOM Xll 6 and it rock with an ati radeon 9800 pro
